Brighton based author Mike Unwin is a writer who specialises in natural history and conservation. He has written over 80 books for both adults and children and his titles include The Bradt Guide to Southern African Wildilfe, Around the World in 80 birds and Migration.
As well as books, he writes regularly for newspapers and magazines including for The Independent, Wanderlust and Bird Watching magazine, BBC Wildlife and, amongst other awards, he won BBC Wildlife Travel Writer of the Year (2000). His love of wildlife his taking him all over the world and particularly Southern Africa where he did a 3-month stint with Zambia’s South Luangwa Conservation Society. Mike’s talk covers his love of Eagles and we’ll hear all about the lifestyle of many eagle species around the world and will include the fascinating time he had in Mongolia with the eagle hunters of that country.
This will be the second time that Mike has given a talk to Henfield Birdwatch as he was one of our first speaker many years ago. Both neither he nor I could remember what he talked about but we both said we remembered enjoying it!
