Rembrandt Why Self Portraits?

Monday 14th September 2026 at 14:30–15:45

Ronnie Ireland is an artist, who exhibits his own work, teaches art and gives lectures on art history. His main interest is in the How and Why of art. Why did the artist make this; how did they make this and crucially, how do these two aspects interact. Rembrandt made self portraits all his long life using them to further his career, and developing his insight into portraying people.

The lecture will be preceded by tea and coffee at 2.00pm. Guests £10 on the door. If you join as a member in September the subscription of £50 will cover you through to the end of 2027.
