The Clarkes Mead Trust needs your help to finish the Henfield Scout Community Centre. Please help to make this building a reality after 27 years of hard work and determination. We had to commit to starting the construction as costs were rapidly soaring; they increased by £90,000 alone during 2021 and 2022. So the steelwork is now up and the roof is fitted. Next the dwarf block wall and the concrete slab will be laid. Then we have a big problem; we'll run out of funds because we have a £70,000 funding shortfall. Grants that we have been promised will not be paid until the building is completed. So we'll have no option but to pause construction. We have plans in place to solve our dilemma, but we need your help in order for them to work.
The Clarkes Mead Trust is asking residents to lend them £100,000 at 2.5% interest over 10 years. This will allow us to complete both the building shell and the internal fit-out to a high standard that the Henfield residents deserve. Once built, the building will be available for all Henfield clubs to use alongside the Scouts and will earn income immediately. If you would like to help complete the Centre, you can do so by lending multiples of £500.
