New Guided Wellbeing Walks in Henfield

20th July 2023

A group of volunteers from Henfield recently signed up to become Walk Leaders for Horsham District Council’s long established Wellbeing Walks Programme

The Wellbeing Walks take place across the district and are free, sociable, and family-friendly. The walks aim to bring people together to explore the local area whilst benefitting from the physical and mental effects of walking in nature.

You can find all available walks published on Horsham District Council’s website here, which is updated on a monthly basis. The walks are graded from 1 to 3 depending on the duration and terrain. Level 1 are shorter routes over easy terrain, level 2 and 3 are longer over more challenging ground. There’s no need to book, you can just turn up!

The Walk Leaders in Henfield (also known as the Henfield Walking Group) would love for you to join them on their walks to explore Historic Henfield. Just check the weather on the day and come dressed accordingly with footwear suitable for walking over country foot paths, tracks, fields, and of course pavements.

Here’s what Kenneth (one of the Walk Leaders) has to say about the new walks:

‘We encourage that you do look up the websites, pick up leaflets and explore our villages and beautiful surrounding countryside in the company of your friends or in the company of experienced and friendly walkers and remain healthy. We all know that walking is a simple great way to remain active and at minimum cost.”

We recognise that some people may prefer to walk on their own or with a close companion. Walking routes and guides are available in our Library and on the Horsham District Council website.
