Getting involved in community climate action in your area

2nd August 2024

Thanks to the hard work of so many diligent climate action volunteers across the district there are now many community groups actively supporting Horsham District Council’s commitment to become more climate resilient and to reach our target of being a net zero district by 2050.

Across the district there is a growing network of climate action community groups offering services ranging from repair cafes, community fridges and larders, to biodiversity projects, refill stations, single use recycling points, and more!

There are many things you can do as an individual, such as reducing the amount of single-use plastics you buy, reducing the water and energy that you use, or wildlife friendly gardening.

And we can be even more effective when we work together, sharing our knowledge, skills and time, whilst enjoying a sense of community spirit and shared purpose, by supporting some of the community action groups detailed below.

Many of these groups are volunteer led, and always on the lookout for help, so do contact them if you want to get involved.  If you know of others not listed below, please let us know at climatechangeaction@horsham.gov.uk
