Magic & Sparkle

30th December 2024

Thank you everyone for supporting the Henfield High Street Christmas events this year!

High Street businesses were relieved that Storm Darragh held off for a few hours for the festivities, but sadly it did arrive in time for the Henfield Artisan Market causing its cancellation on safety grounds.

The Tree Festival at the Evangelical Free Church was well supported, with some rather beautiful and sparkly trees on display and some very clever and creative entries. The beautiful and very patient donkey from Swains Farm Shop was a huge attraction for local children, and carol singers entertained visitors.

At the south end of the village reindeer and the BP Sleigh set up temporary residence, while Santa was extremely busy greeting children and finding out what was on their lists, with a lot of help from Henfield Youth Club.

A fairy and a Christmas tree on stilts added to the fun, and two very beautiful and colourful baubles paraded and charmed visitors with lots of photo opportunities. Thanks to Fiona from Stokes for organising the entertainment.

There were stalls from Henfield Football Club with their grand draw (20 prizes of £100 vouchers), Henfield Guides and the Shedders, as well as others, and the firefighters from Henfield Fire Station brought their engine along, much to the delight of local children.

The evening was a great start to the Christmas celebrations, a huge ‘thank you’ to all the organisers and the shops who opened to share the spirit of Christmas with their customers.
