We have a successful Beaver Colony (Fridays 5.45-6.45pm). The Colony runs a varied and active programme during the week in term time and also enjoy getting out and about whenever possible at other times. Beavers are boys and girls aged from 6 to 8 years old.
The Cub Scouts is open to 8-10½ year olds (Thursdays 6.45-8.15pm). This section follows on from the Beaver Colony and Cubs will move onto the Scout Troop at the age of 10½. We have a variety of meetings, with a range of activities, events and experiences built around 6 programme zones. Each zone represents a different development area in a young person’s life. There are six programme zones in Cub Scouting. They are Beliefs and Attitudes, Community, Fitness, Creative, Global, Outdoor and Adventure.
The Scout section is for young people aged 10.5 to 14 years of age (Fridays 7-8.30pm). The Scouts take part in a huge variety of activities including: rifle shooting, archery, cycling, rafting, rock climbing, abseiling, kayaking, The Troop also learn basic Scouting skills including: firelighting, first aid, knife, axe & saw, bivouacking, orienteering, pioneering, knotting, map and compass.
The Explorer programme is specifically aimed at the 14-18yr age range (Fridays 7-8.30pm). The unit makes the very best use of available venues, spending time indoors at our Group HQ, outdoors locally and further afield. We strive to develop the leadership, teamwork and development potential of our members; running a wide range of activities.
