Henfield Festival of Gardens and Arts takes place over the second weekend in June each year and has now been running for over twenty years with thousands of pounds being raised for local charities. The Festival is organised by a group of volunteers and is funded by generous sponsorship from local businesses. The Festival encourages participation of our village gardeners, artists and musicians and is an event that appeals to our local community, as well as visitors from further afield.
We welcome local gardens, artists and musicians to join this weekend of celebration of all things growing and art. We are always looking for new gardens to join the Festival – gardens are not ‘judged’, we just ask for it to be interesting, colourful and for you to be there to show it off. Each garden can choose a charity to collect for if they wish and we encourage the sale of plants and refreshments.
All of our garden openers have the opportunity to showcase their efforts to encourage wildlife into their space and to gain recognition for this important step in reducing our carbon footprint and preserving our planet.
