The Henfield Self Help Group is a club for companionship. It provides the opportunity for older people, and those who are vulnerable, who often live alone, to meet and socialise in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Our weekly meetings start with a coffee and biscuits, chatter and board games. Then we have a two-course lunch before enjoying some of our varied entertainment programme with a cup of tea! There is no membership fee but a charge of £6 per session which includes a 2-course home cooked meal. Transport can be arranged with our adapted minibus for those unable to get to us under their own steam!
We have been meeting for over 40 years and would love to welcome some new members. The group started in 1980 with three members and three volunteers! We have teams of volunteers who assist with activities, prepare meals and transport members on our minibus. Thanks to the dedication and commitment of our volunteers, the group has gone from strength to strength.
We run a few fundraising events though the year which pays for our annual outing and entertainment. Look out for our events which are published in BN5. We are also fortunate to have the generous support of the Henfield people.
