'Hands On History' Mudlarks

Saturday 2nd May 2026 at 11:00–16:00

Hosted by the Friends of Henfield Museum, Hands on History will be visiting Henfield on Saturday 2nd May at Henfield Hall from 11-4PM. This is a 2nd chance to meet the London Mudlarks who will be showing and talking about a staggering number of finds from the River Thames in the City of London.

The River Thames is a pathway into history going back through the mists of time and we as Mudlarks feel it’s our duty make it available to all who have a passion to want to connect to life in previous times. Two years ago, we visited Henfield and it was an astounding success. The words “Hands on History” is becoming a popular by-way of display that allows the visitor to actually handle a particular object, while we Mudlarks can talk about it.

Friends of Henfield Museum & children under 15 free - payment on the door. Proceeds post expenses go to support the Friends.
