Henfield Club members honoured village character Bob Baldey, who died last month aged 74, by collecting more than £150 for HART (Henfield Area Response Team). His widow Pauline and friends Brian and Kathy Long handed over the cheque at a meeting of the BP Guild at the club on Thursday.
"We are very grateful to HART, who attended Bob several times," said Pauline. "They are a very dedicated group of volunteers who play such an important role in saving lives in the village."
She and Bob, a keen fisherman, were Henfield born-and-bred. Henfield Club president David Page said: "The members felt this was a fitting tribute to a much-loved club member.”
HART chairman Dick Nye said: "We are very grateful to all the members of the club who made this generous donation possible in memory of Bob."
