The Henfield Theatre Company’s May production will be the hilarious comedy, “Stepping Out”, by Richard Harris. It is the story of nine ladies (of various shapes and sizes) and one man. They come together for one evening each week for Mavis's "dance class for absolute beginners”! Their main reason for this activity is to get away from their ordinary and, sometimes, stressful lives. Each character has their own story and reason for being there. In fact, it seems to be not only a dance class but an evening of therapy. It is full of laughs and, sometimes, a little sadness. The laughs result from witty dialogue and the unfortunate fact that the class members are not very good dancers; then comes the bombshell news that Mavis has entered them into a tap dance competition! Watch this space!!!
“Stepping Out” is directed by Ann Atkins. It runs from 14 to 17 May in the Henfield Hall, with performances starting at 7.45pm.
Tickets, priced £8 and £10, will be on sale at Henfield Furnishings. The production is sponsored by The White Hart.
