Over 60 Henfield clubs and groups had stands at the Village Evening last night (Friday 9 May) and local residents enjoyed membership offers and found out about the huge amount of clubs and groups in the area.
Local MP Nick Herbert visited and met Parish Councillors and representatives of groups and charities.
Local nursery schools, Henfield Gardens and Arts, the WI, Henfield Joggers, Churches, Scouts, Guides, the Chanctonbury Ring Morris Men, HART, amongst lots of others, had stands and displays showing what they get up to. Local protest group LAMBs (Locals against Mayfield Building Sprawl) were showing Henfield people the potential impact of the Mayfield development and photographs of an osprey spotted on the site of the planned 10,ooo home development. The Clarks Mead Trust (trustees of the Scout Hut and land) were explaining their exciting plans for a new Scout Hut in the village.
At the BN5 magazine stand we enjoyed meeting local people and hearing your very positive comments about the magazine. We were pleased to make contact with some new groups and make plans for some new editorial features on their groups. We gave away cupcakes from Kaylees Cakery and our lovely pink pens to promote the BN5 magazine website.
