The downpours didn't dampen the spirits or the enthusiasm of visitors to the 2017 Henfield Summer Fayre and Show, where crowds flocked to visit the stalls, attractions and sideshows. The wonderful Duck Herding was a huge hit, as was the Hawking display, keeping everyone entertained while the BP Guild served copious pints and flipped several hundred burgers! Competition was fierce in the Show Tent, with The Henfield Haven's Allotment group doing very well in several growing classes. 19 entries for one cake class left judges with a hard task in deciding the winners.
At the BN5 stand 5 luxury hampers were raffled in aid of the Henfield Youth Club, with over £1,000 raised despite the rain. Henfield bags proved to be hugely popular (some will still be on sale in the High Street next week, for donations of £2 to Henfield Youth Club). Enormous thanks go to all the local businesses who donated so generously.
Our thanks to the organising team, led by Mike Morgan and the team at Henfield Parish Council.
