Henfield High Street held a wonderful Christmas shopping evening for the village on Friday 6 December. This year’s theme was a Dickensian ‘Christmas Carol’ and visitors were able to step back in time, enjoying festive entertainment, drinks and nibbles whilst they browsed special offers and seasonal gifts.
The Evangelical Free Church hosted the gorgeous Christmas Tree Festival with some wonderful carol singing from the Cubs outside, watched over by the beautiful little donkey from Swains. The ever-popular Children’s Sheep Trail has kept little ones occupied and new for this year, a pop-up nativity booth! Other activities included lucky-dips, raffles, roasted chestnuts, gingerbread decorating and bauble making. Costumes on the evening ranged from Christmas jumpers to some fabulous Victorian fancy dress!
Congratulations to The Post House Café who won the BN5 Facebook competition for the Most Christmassy Window Display, with Stokes of Henfield runners-up. They both win advertising in a future edition of BN5.
We would like to thank Rob and Fiona Ayres from Stokes, together with the other High Street traders, who worked incredibly hard to create such a wonderful Christmas experience on the night. We would also like to thank all those who came along on the evening to support our brilliant High Street.
