Please come along to Henfield High Street on Sunday 27th June for a High Street Party! Bring the kids, meet the grandparents and some friends, enjoy a cold pint in one of the pubs and listen to some music.
You’ll find street-food vendors like the little Indian food tuk-tuk from Sakala in Steyning, shops open and welcoming old and new customers and a cracking barbie provided by the guys at South Downs Butchery in the Post House Café garden. You’ll find local folk duo Will and Wolfie playing under a gazebo outside the Henfield Club and their great bar stocking lot of local beers will be open to all, while at Stokes the garden will host a Children’s Talent Contest.
Local pubs will all be open and the cafés will be serving delicious food. The High Street will be decked with summertime bunting and beautiful coordinated floral displays – big, bright, bold and beautiful!
If you venture round to the Henfield Hall Garden you’ll find Nick and his Circus Tricks with lots of fun entertainment for the children while the grown-ups enjoy a drink at the bar. You’ll also find Helena Hunt and her beautiful flowers, children can make some floral crowns to celebrate the summertime at her workshop. There will be a candyfloss stall at Marcus Grimes and if you venture down Cagefoot Lane you’ll hear the brass band music of Brass Fusion playing in the grounds of Red Oaks Care home – pop in to see them, there will be lots of fun things to do, and lots cake of course.
As we go to print, plans are still taking shape and we know plans may change a little; there may also be additional lovely things to do. So, put a date in your diaries for Sunday 27 June and head on down to Henfield High Street to browse the shops and have some fun.
A huge thank you to Stevens Estate Agents, Perry Plumbers & Perry Electrics and Richwards Estate Agents for sponsoring the music and children’s activities. This event is a collective of many High Street businesses working together. Thank you especially to Alison Egan from Relish for organising the entertainment and Oliver Borrow from Post House Café and the Henfield Traders for their participation and support.
Please keep safe and keep your distance; we are still under Covid-19 restrictions but the event will go ahead because it's predominantly outdoors. Thank you.
