After missing last year’s commemorations, Henfield residents turned out in their hundreds on Sunday 15 November to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the two World Wars as well as recent conflicts. Led by Brighton City Brass, the Parade mustered at the War Memorial in Cagefoot Lane and marched to St Peter’s Church for a Service of Remembrance.
After the service the Parade returned to the War Memorial where they were joined by local people who lined the High Street and filled the road. A two-minute silence, the Last Post and Reveille sounded and wreaths were laid before a short service of Remembrance led by the three Henfield Churches.
Thank you to Mike Morgan and Belinda Samrah of Henfield Parish Council and Revd Paul Doick, Rector of St Peter’s Church, for the organisation of this important event in our village.
