After successfully updating its status recently to become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, the Henfield Hall achieved a local first on Wednesday 27 April when a roof-mounted solar system was commissioned and started generating electricity to benefit both the Hall and the community. Sustainable Henfield proposed an energy survey and one suggestion was to install solar panels and a combination of grants, local benefactor help, Gift Aid repayments and monies from our own reserves meant we could proceed. Those few words belittle the tremendous effort devoted to securing such grants, for which we are immensely grateful.
A 60-panel hi-efficiency 24.6kW (peak) system (at a total cost of £30,000) was installed on the main hall roof. Unobtrusive and scarcely visible from the ground, its effects will be far-reaching. Future expansion plans include batteries and hopefully EV charging points. The Henfield Hall - your Hall - is moving with the times and trying to keep up with technology. If you think you could help or contribute in any way, we’d be pleased to hear from you. Become a member of the CIO, be a Trustee, or simply offer practical help.
