2023 is the Year of Young People for Henfield Parish Council and we will be organising a range of fun activities for children and young people to take part in, as well as working with local businesses to establish places for our young people to be together safely.
Launch events will include: ‘Hub on the High Street’, after-school drop-in for 13-16 years starting on Wednesday 1 March from 4-6pm at Goodness Café and; ‘Hub @ the Club’ starting on Friday 31 March at the Henfield Club for 16-18 year olds.
Other planned activities in 2023 include a Coronation Family Fun Day on Sunday 7 May, a cinema night for young people on Saturday 27 May, a Skate Jam on the Kings Field during the summer term (date tbc) and a Young Person’s Job Fair during the autumn term (date tbc).
Here at Henfield Parish Council we are committed to improving the prospects for children and young people. We are recruiting a Youth Co-ordinator to shape our Young Persons’ Strategy which will support children and young people to have their say, provide places for them to go and improve the information and advice available to them.
We also want to encourage local young people to take part in Parish Council activities and decision-making as to become working party group members and volunteers. We will do this by developing a forum for young people. For more information see the Henfield Parish Council's website. All news and updates can be found on the Henfield Parish Council's Facebook page.
