Henfield Parish Council was formed in 1894 and the first election was held on 17th December 1894. The first Parish Council meeting was held at 7pm on 2 January 1895. Henfield first elected councillors consisted of the vicar, two doctors, four farmers, two builders, a butcher, a grocer and three landowners - needless to say no women councillors.
A great deal has changed since then in Henfield but the Parish Council still meets in the first week of each month at 7pm.
Our offices are open 9am-12pm Monday to Friday.
