Now that autumn is upon us, and the gardens are being put to bed, this is the perfect time for gathering seeds in time for the seed swap next year. All sorts of seeds can be harvested from the gardens, preferably on a dry day, but even if the seeds are a bit damp, they can be dried out at home. Once they are dry and put in separate envelopes clearly marked with the name of the seed, it is important to store in a cool dry place. I always keep mine in a biscuit tin in the spare bedroom which seems to work really well. Luckily, I have quite a few biscuit tins!
The Seed Swap will be arranged for a date in February to be arranged, and you can then exchange your own seeds for any others that you want, and save yourself a lot of money!
Happy gathering!
