We will remember them
Henfield residents respectfully lined the High Street in large numbers to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the two World Wars and more recent conflicts on Sunday 12 November.
The Parade of local organisations, including various Scouting and Guiding groups, mustered at the War Memorial in Cagefoot Lane and marched to St Peter’s Church led by Brighton & Hove City Brass Band.
After a Service of Remembrance at the church they then returned to the War Memorial for another short Service of Remembrance, a touching two-minute silence, the sounding of the Last Post and Reveille. Many poppy wreaths were then laid on behalf of various local organisations.
As always, this was a very moving and memorable event. We are very grateful to Henfield Parish Council and St Peter’s Church for the organisation of this the other village remembrance events. We would also like to thank Brighton & Hove City Brass Band, and Henfield Club for their warm hospitality.
