Tiny school packs a huge punch!

27th November 2024

Twineham C of E primary, near Hickstead, which has around 50 pupils, puts on an amazing array of extra curricular activities for its pupils and the wider community, raising an astonishing amount of money to further enrich its pupils’ schooling. It has a very small but active community of parents who work hard to put on and promote the huge events.

Recently, they hosted the annual fireworks event, complete with a professional display by Phase One Fireworks, a performance by professional fire eater Nick Cook, a huge bonfire, as well as offering delicious brownies by local company Brownie Points, a variety of hot chocolates, mulled wine, hot dogs, chillis, and sweets.

One parent helper said ‘We are small but we work hard and we had around 300 attendees at the bonfire night which raised over £2,000. Its a phenomenal achievement for such a tiny school.

The school also hosts many other events throughout the year, including welly walks, a huge summer fair and dog show, young entrepreneur, christmas disco with santas grotto, summer party, and many other activities. Parents continue to return and support the school long after their children have left because of the friendly school community.

Monies raised pay for enrichment activities for pupils such as weekly forest school, a garden classroom complete with lighting and heating, which Rampion match funded, and are now raising funds for a sensory garden.
