New equipment for St Peter's children

30th May 2014

St. Peter's School has added a listening centre and bike storage shed to its facilities thanks to Henfield Community Partnership and Knight's Budgens. Partnership vice-chairman Neville de Moraes handed over a cheque for £700 to school PTA treasurer Sue Powell this week.  The money came from advertising payments on a community noticeboard in Budgens, installed by the HCP.

PTA chairman Richard Lucy and Knight's Budgens assistant manager Jenny Allaston were at the presentation on Wednesday with HCP noticeboard organiser Bill Shelton. School headteacher Nick Phillips said: "This equipment and the funds donated show what a close relationship the school has with the village and the wider community. We are incredibly grateful for the support we get and for the close links we have with local organisations."

The listening centre enables children to listen to cds and story tapes to help with their reading. The new bike storage shed houses six school bikes used to teach reception children bike skills, co-ordination and safety within the school grounds.
