Sustainable Henfield 2030 (SH2030) is a locally-based group for people who want to help reverse both the climate crisis and the decline in the natural world.
Everyone is welcome to join in, in the way that best suits them. We have activities and interest groups on a variety of issues which can help everyone live a more sustainable lifestyle in Henfield and surrounding area.
These include:
Reducing, Reusing, Repairing and Recycling - including raising funds for local good causes
Making your home and lifestyle more carbon-efficient
Giving nature a helping hand by planting, green gardening and more
Raising awareness - making the case for a better world for future generations
As part of all this, we have a weekly stall in Henfield Monday Morning Market and at the monthly Sunday Artisan Markets where you can link with our Repair Cafe service. Do come and meet us there!
We hold occasional public meetings, events such as litter picks and local walks, but most of our work goes on in smaller groups such as the Carbon Reduction Group or Biodiversity Group. Many local people are regularly involved in the recycling project and in repairing items to keep from going to landfill. These are informal and can be great fun.
Sustainable Henfield 2030 is a federated group within Henfield Community Partnership. We run Henfield Repair Cafe and Plastic Free Henfield. We also have close links with Henfield Conservation Group and the Parish Council. When appropriate, SH2030 links up with other local organisations like Sussex Green Living and Greening Steyning, and are affiliated to the South East Climate Alliance and Friends of the Earth.
